Verifying Club Member Status

If you’ve listed a special offer for mate.travel club members, you'll need to know how to confirm a customer's membership status. Depending on your type of business, you may receive an automated email, check a guest’s digital pass in the mate.travel app, or rely on a coupon code used on your own booking site.

If your business takes direct reservations through mate.travel – like hotels, villas, restaurants, events, classes or services – you’ll receive an automatic email every time someone books. That email shows whether they are a free user or a club member, along with all the reservation info.

REMEMBER:

If you’ve given us a special coupon code that can be used directly on your own booking website, using the code confirms club membership. We only display it to club members, so anyone applying the code has already been verified. Free users may still book with you directly, but won’t have access to the code or any special rates.

For businesses where people may walk in without a reservation, such as shops, bars or even restaurants, there won’t be a reservation email. Instead, club members will show their digital pass in the mate.travel app when they want to claim their special offer.

There are three ways to confirm a customer’s club member status, depending on how your business operates:

• Reservation emails, for businesses that take advance bookings through mate.travel
  

• Digital pass checks, for walk-in customers who show their pass in the mate.travel app
  

• Coupon codes, used directly on your own booking site and only shown to club members
  
  

Some businesses will use just one of these, while others may use a combination.
